“The KEEPER of the KEYS” Premieres

As anyone who attended the VIP Red Carpet Premiere of “The KEEPER of the KEYS” on Dec. 8th in Las Vegas will tell you, the world finally has a personal development movie that is delightful! I’ve written before that production had wrapped on “The Keeper of the Keys” – the first FUNNY personal development movie ever produced, starring Jack Canfield, John Gray, and Marci Shimoff. But, as this is my first production, I realize now that I was being naive. As things turned out, my A-list production crew headed back into the studio last week to film some “pick ups” and the final expert segments.

Dare I announce yet again that filming has wrapped? I think I’m safe in doing so at this point! Congratulations to all the experts for committing to this project. They each flew to Las Vegas to film their segments, meet one another, and secure their spot in history! I can assure you … we succeeded in “taking the ‘Hell’ out of SELF-HELP”!

The 405 Freeway BEFORE Carmageddon!

My background is in advertising. I have been CAPTIVATED by “Carmageddon.” First, I LOVE the name of this event. Talk about making lemons out of lemonade! Wow! Americans are KNOWN for their sense of humor and this is a great case in point. Anyone who has ever driven the 405 would agree that shutting it down for three days would be apocalyptic.

I’ve seen several “Carmaggedon” videos – including one on www.FunnyorDie.com – which was VERY funny, as well as an incredibly well-edited “Adolf Hitler has to get to the airport” video, which my friend Bill Morris forwarded to me. I even saw “PONCH” – Erik Estrada’s character from the “CHIPS” TV show warning Southern California motorists to AVOID the 405 freeway this weekend. The California Dept. of Transportation must’ve thought of using Erik to reach the seniors, as CHiPS hasn’t been on the air since 1983! But it was such an iconic show – and there is a strong association between Estrada and the California Highway Patrol (CHiPs). All of this promotion and warnings worked. The freeway was CALM and the Cal. DOT was able to pull down the old Mulholland Drive Bridge – the reason for the closure.

In my career, I have seen businesses that failed to advertise eventually close their doors. The #1 reason businesses fail is lack of sufficient capital – but I believe it is lack of promotion and advertising. If no one is spending their money with them because know one KNOWS about them, it’s fairly OBVIOUS why they went out of business – and how that business came to “lack capital.” Promotion in business – when done right – will lead to an influx of capital! The qualifier should read: “Lack of capital because no one KNEW about them!” Without sufficient customers, they eventually close their doors. Teddy Roosevelt once said, “Running a business without advertising is like winking at a pretty girl in the dark … only YOU know what you’re doing!” No kidding, Teddy!

An EERIE absence of cars; seems everyone in So. Cal. KNEW to stay away

So – let me just say that CARMAGGEDON is not “carmadud” as one onlooker commented. It’s a brilliant example of just how POWERFUL advertising, marketing, and promotion can be. The CARMAGGEDON “who-hah” (along with ON RAMP CLOSURES) has managed to keep the 405 clear this weekend.

Which brings me to the POINT of this blog: I am set on promoting the bureau’s new movie, “The Keeper of the Keys,” with all my  heart, passion, and soul, because people NEED to see this movie! If people know what is coming, they will PLAN FOR IT! Our “KEY” movie is funny, it’s “Real Life,” and it’s going to take viewers on an incredible, cinematic journey. I’m guessing they won’t even realize it’s a documentary until they start to apply in their own lives some of what they discovered in the movie. And, even though I had PLANNED on promoting it, this weekend’s amazing Carmaggedon reminds me, once again, that advertising and marketing and promotion work;  they are GOLDEN!

Bottom line: LOOK FOR EXCITING BLOG POSTS, PRESS RELEASES, AND INTERVIEWS from yours truly and all the amazing cast members and stars of “The Keeper of the Keys.” Know that it’s going to be a funny, engaging personal development movie that features amazing stories that will transform how you view the world. Mark your calendars to be in Las Vegas on December 8th – which is when we will premiere this amazing personal development movie which stars Jack Canfield, John Gray, and Marci Shimoff, at the Brenden Theatres at the Palms Resort Hotel & Casino. He was upset over the prevalence of violence in films today and wanted to do something about it. I’m a huge fan so I figured why not start at the top?!”

“Our first phone call was incredible,” said Robin. “I could not respect Stephen more, so when he started offering advice, I grabbed a pen and started writing. He was a tremendous influence. When he heard I was interested in bringing in Scott Cervine as director and lead actor, he was on board 1000%. He has known and worked with Scott for nearly 10 years. He thought Scott – and his production company, ‘Movies From the Heart,’ would be ideal for this project. June 30th marked the last day of regular shooting on “The Keeper of the Keys” – the speakers bureau’s personal development film starring Jack Canfield, Dr. John Gray, and Marci Shimoff along with a cast of extraordinary experts in all fields of personal development.

A new kind of personal development movie

“The Keeper of the Keys” is an innovative personal development movie that was created by the film’s producer and bureau president, Robin Jay. Robin was frustrated by the genre of personal development  films that amount to little more than endless streams of “talking heads.” She wanted to create a movie that was fun to watch, engaging, real-life, AND empowering to viewers. Her first step was to hire Scott Cervine to direct and star in the documentary. Robin had seen Scott in several films that he’d produced for Spiritual Cinema Circle and thought he’d be perfect on screen and behind the camera.

Scott became so excited about the project that he stepped up to co-produce and co-write the script with Robin. Scott’s production company is Movies from the Heart. If you’ve been speaking professionally, but haven’t yet attained the level of success you seek, the Las Vegas Convention Speakers Bureau has the answer for you. This is why the Las Vegas Convention Speakers Bureau is issuing a “CASTING CALL”  for professional speakers and experts who are interested in being featured in the bureau’s newest personal development movie, “The Keeper of the Keys,” starring Jack Canfield and Marci Shimoff, two stand-out speakers from the movie “The Secret.”

The casting call is open to seasoned speakers and experts who have a strong message they want to share with the world. Being comfortable on camera is a huge plus. There are just a few spots available for the most qualified experts who can speak on the Universal Laws … or “Keys” to living a better life, enjoying greater success, and attaining happiness.

LVCSB president Robin Jay, who has published three editions of the bureau’s bestselling speaker anthology series, “The Power of the Platform,” said that her decision to produce a movie instead of another book was an easy one. Jay said, “The professional speaking industry is more competitive than ever before. For seasoned speakers, choosing to appear in a movie with well-known speakers like Jack and Marci is the opportunity of a lifetime. Building a successful speaking career is all about marketing – and a movie like this is an extraordinary marketing tool.”

“For speakers,” Jay shared, “being featured in a movie is the VERY BEST WAY to identify yourself as an expert in your field; it affords you the opportunity to share information with more people than ever before. And, unlike a book, people can watch a movie TOGETHER. They can view it with their friends, a spouse, or their kids and then discuss it with each other. Jack Canfield, the star of the movie, is co-creator of the “Chicken Soup for the Soul” series, creator of “The Success Principles,” and one of the most recognized and beloved experts in “The Secret.” Bestselling author and speaker Marci Shimoff, another expert who appeared in “The Secret,” the movie that started it all, will also star in the movie.

Marci’s newest book is “Love for No Reason.” It quickly rose to the top of bestseller lists across the country when it was released earlier this year. Shimoff is also the author of “Chicken Soup for the Woman’s Soul” and “Chicken Soup for the Mother’s Soul.” Several of the bureau’s “Power of the Platform” coauthors will also be featured in the film.

The story line will focus on the Universal Principles, or “keys,” such as the Law of Compensation, the Law of Supply, and the more well-known Law of Attraction. The screenplay is based upon the teachings of several pioneers in the field of personal development, though Jay said she will modify any specific area to tie in perfectly with any cast member’s particular experience.

Discover the Keys to the Universe in the Bureau's New Movie

The Las Vegas Convention Speakers Bureau has issued a “CASTING CALL” for professional speakers and experts who are interested in being featured in the new personal development movie, “The Keeper of the Keys.”

The casting call is open to those speakers who have been speaking for more than five years and who earn an average of $7500 or more per keynote address or seminar. Being comfortable on camera is a huge plus. There are currently just 11 spots available.

LVCSB president Robin Jay, who has published three editions of the bureau’s outstanding speaker anthology series, “The Power of the Platform,” said that her decision to produce a movie instead of another book is merely a natural progression. “Digital books are hugely popular now,” Jay said. “Apple has already sold 7 Million iPads. Technology is doubling every year and costs are halving. It makes sense to go completely digital today. The advantages of appearing in a movie are unlimited. People can watch a movie TOGETHER.
